They work well on uneven ground, combining precision and speed with favourable hay handling. In addition to their heavy-duty frame construction and reinforced spring tines, they also offer the user hydraulic lifting of the stars. One of the major shortcomings of other trailed steering gears, which are most common in our country, is that the spring teeth in the turning gears are subject to very high loads and therefore often break, causing additional costs. The simple and rapid lifting of star wheels eliminates this problem and, with a large area capacity twice that of the other types mentioned above, they are very economical to operate. They are robust, simple in construction, require little maintenance and are easy to operate.
