Description
It is mainly designed to remove the stems from harvested onions, preparing them for storage or further processing.
Main features:

- Use: To remove the stems of onions (onion stalk cutter). Also suitable for shallots and flowering onions.
- Principle of operation: the machine cuts the stems of onions with rapidly rotating blades. The bulbs pass through vibrating sieves and the stems are sucked down by a strong air current, where the knives cut them off.
- Capacity: usually 5 to 10 tonnes per hour.
- Number of knives: 2.
- Number of grids: 2 pieces. Vibrating sieves are easily interchangeable and available for different bulb sizes (6-40 mm).
- Closed system (optional): A closed system version (AS-10 ENC) is available, which can be equipped with a waste conveyor belt for better airflow and dust reduction.
- Vibration motors: Specially designed vibration motors ensure the floating movement of the bulbs on the sieves.
- Blade speed (optional): On some models, the blade speed can be adjusted for optimum cutting of different bulb sizes.
- Safety: The machines have the necessary safety standards.

Other information:

With HOLARAS machines, the stems are not torn off, but cut by the fast rotating blades, thus avoiding damage to the bulbs.
The machine can be supplied with an optional dosing hopper or pre-sorting hopper to ensure a continuous crop flow.
By replacing the vibrating sieves, the machine can be adapted to different sizes and types of onions (e.g. onions, edible onions, salotta).
