Description
The MD 18 is a hydrostatic lawnmower with an 83 cm belly mower and dual cutting function, equipped with a "Quick Shift" lever to switch from mulching to side discharge directly from the driver's seat. Ideal for mowing large areas where excellent results are required, even on slopes. The low ground clearance makes it ideal for working under foliage. The seat is sprung to provide great comfort for the operator. The MD 18 is equipped with the Briggs & Stratton Professional EXi INTEK 7160 OHV 656 cc two-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 15.2 hp (18 hp gross). The single-blade cutting table is made entirely of steel, with impact-resistant, floating blade tips with a special cutting-edge profile for precise cutting in all grass conditions.

Cutting height adjustment ranges from 2.5 to 8 cm and is controlled by a 6-position lever. The same lever also has an additional shift position that allows the entire cutting mechanism to be raised higher off the ground, automatically interrupting the rotation of the blades to easily overcome kerbs and obstacles.

The cutting head belt tension is self-adjusting. The entire unit remains parallel to the ground at all times, so the quality of the cut is improved even after years of use!

The blades are switched on by an electric button near the steering wheel, which activates the electromagnetic clutch on the power output shaft.

The "Quick Shift" lever allows you to switch between cutting modes while sitting comfortably in the driver's seat, even while cutting, without interrupting your work. No need to change blades.

Side discharge cutting is convenient for tall grass and is also suitable for those who do not mow regularly. The cut grass is discharged into the side steel cover. The projecting cover is designed to standards, ensuring optimum operator safety. It is also equipped with a leather protection roller. To further increase reliability and impact protection, the cover hinges are located inside the cover.

The mulching cut is ideal for regular mowing and finely shreds the grass clippings, helping to release nutrients into the soil. In addition, mulching can be done after the first pass of the rear discharge cut for better results.

The transmission consists of a hydrostatic shaft equipped with an oil cooling fan, which is essential to increase transmission performance by reducing the operating temperature. The speed can be continuously varied between 0 and 9 km/h and allows a precise choice of forward speed.

The tilting front axle keeps all four wheels on the ground, even on very uneven ground.

The differential lock is standard, pedal-controlled and indispensable on low-grip slopes or when the terrain is extremely uneven and the machine remains on three wheels.

The mechanical steering is smooth and precise, with an inside turning radius of 45 cm, which ensures excellent manoeuvrability even on roads with obstacles such as plants, street lights, etc.

The MD 18 is compact, with a roll-over frame, low centre of gravity and optimum weight distribution, providing maximum stability and safety for the operator. A seat positioned close to the ground, an internal combustion engine with a very low positioned vertical axle, a belly plate positioned exactly between the 4 wheels and a battery mounted on the front axle make the machine exceptionally stable.

The MD 18 is equipped as standard with a mechanically sprung seat, the suspension of which can be adjusted to the operator's weight: even after hours of work, the ride is comfortable! The legs rest on a footrest adjustable to 2 positions to meet the needs of all users.

The driving controls are ergonomic, with a forward lever that allows you to choose the exact speed. With the brake pedal, the forward lever automatically returns to zero and all 4 wheels are braked. The parking brake is applied to the rear wheels. The blades are activated by an electric button near the steering wheel.

All parts, from the simplest to the most complex, are of high quality. The frame, the cutterbar, the head, everything is made by Grillo in Italy, using the best materials and the most modern technologies to ensure high, consistent and 100% controlled quality. Grillo machines are painted with two coats of electrostatic powder coating. Washing and preparation baths are applied first, followed by a first protective coat, which, when baked in the oven, provides the best base for the finishing application. A second coat of paint and a further step in the oven at 190°C gives the characteristic hardness and gloss. Grillo MD 18 is meticulously assembled and tested by professionals. Final testing of the MD 18 includes testing of each machine with the motor running to check all functions. This is an additional and final guarantee of a high quality product.
