Description
The MD 28 AWD is a hydrostatic lawnmower that offers best-in-class performance. The 132 cm belly mower has a dual cutting function and is equipped with a "Quick Shift" lever to switch from mulching to rear discharge directly from the driving position. It has 4 fixed drive wheels and is suitable for mowing on steep slopes, with reduced traction and low canopy trees. Suitable for use on professional and private lawns where impeccable cutting is required. The MD 28 AWD is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton Professional 8270 OHV 724 cc two-cylinder petrol engine producing 22 hp (27 hp gross) and is fitted with a cyclonic air filter.
The cutting table has 3 blades. The cutting height ranges from 2.5 to 11 cm, the continuous adjustment ("infinite" positions) guarantees a quality cut, the lever control is assisted by a gas spring for maximum comfort.
The cutting attachment is made entirely of steel and is not afraid of hitting stones. Large diameter blade shafts and cutting power transmission guarantee reliability even in the most difficult working conditions, for hours on end in absolute safety.
The cutting head belt tension is self-adjusting. The entire unit remains parallel to the ground at all times, so the quality of the cut is improved even after years of use!
The blades are switched on by an electric button near the steering wheel, which activates the electromagnetic clutch of the power output shaft.
The "Quick Shift" lever allows you to switch between cutting modes while sitting comfortably in the driver's seat, even while cutting, without interrupting your work. No need to change blades.
Rear discharge mowing is convenient when the grass is tall and suitable for those who don't mow regularly.
The mulching mower is ideal for regular mowing, it finely shreds the grass clippings, helping to release nutrients into the soil. In addition, mulching can be done after the first pass of the rear discharge cut for better results.
The permanent four-wheel drive consists of 2 hydrostatic axles. The rear axle is equipped with a pedal-controlled differential lock, which is essential for negotiating slopes in low-traction conditions. The front axle is steerable and tiltable, and is equipped with a hydraulic system which, together with the rear axle differential, provides constant traction on the 4 wheels, even at maximum steering angles, without wheel slippage. The speed can be continuously varied between 0 and 9 km/h, allowing a precise choice of forward speed. The mechanical steering is smooth and precise, and the 95 cm inside turning radius ensures excellent manoeuvrability even on roads with obstacles such as plants, street lights, etc.
The MD 28 AWD is equipped with large steel hydraulic hoses connecting the two drive shafts. Combined with a cooling fan mounted on the rear axle, these help keep the operating temperature of the hydrostatic oil low, ensuring maximum transmission performance even under intensive working conditions.
The MD 28 AWD is compact, has a low centre of gravity and optimum weight distribution, providing maximum stability and safety for the operator. The seat positioned close to the ground, the internal combustion engine with its very low positioned vertical axle, the belly plate positioned exactly between the 4 wheels and the battery mounted on the front axle make the machine exceptionally stable.
The folding frame can be folded down in a few seconds to facilitate work under the plants. Thanks to two handy levers, the frame can be lowered or raised without the use of tools.
The MD 28 AWD comes standard with an adjustable seat: driving is comfortable even after many hours of work!
The driving controls are ergonomic and the forward lever allows you to select the exact speed. With the brake pedal, the forward lever automatically returns to zero and the rear axle is braked. The rear wheel lock is lever operated.
All parts, from the simplest to the most complex, are of high quality. The frame, the cutter, the headstock - everything is manufactured by Grillo in Italy, using the best materials and the most modern technologies, for high, constant and 100% controlled quality. Grillo machines are painted with two coats of electrostatic powder coating. Washing and preparation baths are applied first, followed by a first protective coat, which, when baked in the oven, provides the best base for the finishing application. A second coat of paint and a further baking step in the oven at 190°C gives the characteristic hardness and gloss. The MD 28 AWD is meticulously assembled and tested by professionals. The final testing of the MD 28 AWD includes a test of each machine with the engine running to check all functions. This is an additional and final guarantee of a high quality product.
As with all Grillo products, the MD 28 AWD is designed and manufactured to last and maintain its value for many years to come Engine Briggs & Stratton 8290 CXi series commercial electric start with 12 V battery Gasoline Fuel Displacement 724 cc, 2 cylinders Power 22 hp (16.2 kW) Air-cooled Dry air filter with replaceable filter cartridges Fuel tank capacity 13 litres Shifting Hydrostatic transmission with 4-wheel drive Clutch Electromagnetic TLT clutch, with knife brake Cutting attachment Side discharge and mulching, with "QUICK SHIFT" quick-change lever for changing cutting mode Cutting configuration 3-blade rotary Cutting width 125 cm Cutting height between 2.5 and 11 cm with gas spring and stepless adjustment Blade circumferential speed 81 m/1" Differential lock Rear axle assist, foot-operated Front tyres 16x6.50-8 Rear tyres 20x10.00-8 Speed 0-9 km/h infinitely variable, 0-8 km/h in reverse Minimum inside turning radius 95 cm Seat Longitudinally adjustable.
