Description
For sale is the John Deere Disk Ripper 512 machine pictured.
If you're looking for a tool for leveling the surface, removing trampling damage, tillage residue, and late fall tillage on high stem residue covered fields with confidence, the John Deere Disk Ripper is the best choice.
John Deere's aim was to create a tool that could cope with the basic cultivation of large amounts of unmulched maize in one pass with relatively low specific power requirements. The result of this development was the John Deere 510 Disk Ripper, or 'Disk Ripper', which was launched in 5- and 7-knife versions, combining the 'X' arrangement of disc barrels with the 'V' arrangement of 'C' knife loosener. In the late 1990s, the improved 512 series was introduced, featuring a new tandem ground tracking treadmill and modified blade layout, resulting in improved depth retention and flow cross-section, while the range of models was extended with the addition of a flexible-wing, 9-blade, three-section version.
The Disk Ripper is a single pass, no-till basic autumn cultivator that easily handles high stalk residue corn yields of up to 12-16 tonnes/ha or irrigated, compacted, unmudded hybrid and sweet corn. At a depth of 5-15 cm, it evenly mixes in stalk residues and applied nutrients and organic matter, while simultaneously loosening the soil at a working depth of 25-40 cm. The machine is also suitable for conventional basic cultivation and, thanks to the 76.2 cm loosening width, for positioned/on-row basic cultivation. By eliminating compaction, the soil structure ensures good water retention and sufficient residue is left on the mixed surface for soil protection. Power requirements are 50-70 hp/blade depending on soil conditions and working depth, which translates to 250-350 hp for the 5-blade (3.8 m) version. As a basic machine, its ideal operating speed is 8-10 km/h, which means a daily output of 30-35 ha for the 5-knife version
