WHAT KIND OF AGITATOR DO I NEED?

It is important to know which pantographs you will be using. Using lighting or a compressor, for example, will give you a different calculation of power consumption. Resistive products (heating elements, light bulbs) do not have a starting voltage, which means that a 1000 watt alternator is sufficient to light a 1000 watt lamp, for example. A compressor motor, on the other hand, has a starting voltage, which means that more power is needed to start the induction motor. This can be 2 to 5 times the power of an electric motor. So for a 1.5 hp (1100 watts) compressor, you may need an alternator that can deliver around 5500 watts.

Types of consumers

To determine the appropriate genset/generator, it is important to first determine the consumer category to which the application belongs. There are three types of consumers:

1. Resistance consumers: these are simple consumers such as light bulbs, toasters and electric heaters. Electric light bulbs (e.g. electric light bulbs, electric heaters, electric heaters, electric clothes dryers, etc.). They are constant current consumers. The power output of the consumer does not depend on the quality of the voltage supplied.

2. inductive consumers. The power depends on the quality of the voltage supplied. Poor quality voltage causes vibration and thus low performance of the electric motor. This means that the electric motor cannot reach its maximum speed or torque, resulting in overheating and ultimately reduced lifetime. Inductive consumers require additional starting current. Final energy consumption is significantly lower when the electric motor is running. Tools such as saws and drills are also inductive consumers. Power consumption is low, but this requires an inrush current 2 to 5 times the final power consumption.

3. Electronic consumers. They are very sensitive to the quality of the electrical signal. These devices need a stable voltage for proper and consistent operation. If you are not sure about the "peak power" of your equipment/inductive load, contact the manufacturer of the product in question.
