Dear Grape lovers! :)

Our family farm in Mátra, Abasar, offers you again this year the fruits of our carefully tended vineyard. Thanks to the favourable weather, the harvest started already in the first half of August and you can choose from fresh, fragrant and juicy grape varieties until the autumn.

The price includes berrying.

Grape varieties in order of ripeness:

1. Zenit -
Description. Mostly base wine or base for blending. Brandy: Light, fresh, slightly spicy, fruity brandy.
Wine: it produces a harmonious, fruity wine, easy to drink and always with a good sugar level. Also a rich base for brandy.

2. Rieslingszilváni -
Description: light, neutral, ripens quickly. Easy, light and easy to drink.
Brandy: Soft, fresh, restrained, with a fruity character.
Wine: fresh, light, light wine with a friendly acidity. Quick to process, also a good base for brandy.

3. Sauvignon blanc -
Description: A big world variety with a strong varietal character: aromas of elderberries, nettles and green apples.
Brandy: Intense, spicy-fruity aroma.
Wine: a white wine with a high market value, fragrant, elegant and succulent. Excellent in both barrel and reductive styles.

4. Pinot gris -
Description: thicker skinned, rosy coloured grapes. Full-bodied, higher alcohol.
Brandy: A more neutral but elegant brandy with soft, delicate fruit flavours.
Wine: elegant and full-bodied wine base with a slightly spicy character. It has a rich fruit, good sugar content and excellent for making brandy. Good quality, it can represent a premium category.

5. Zweigelt -
Description: red berry fruit, soft tannins, medium body.
Pálinka: Medium-bodied, with a softer, fruity aroma.
Wine: softer red wine, fresh, easy to drink, good for blends. Also good as a brandy.

6.
Description. Rich in acidity, spicy, cherry and cherry flavours.
Pálinka: Full-bodied, characterful, fruity flavour.
Wine: very good red wine, long-lasting, ageing, basic variety of many wine regions. Excellent marketability.

7.
Description: Late variety with almond bitterness, very varied quality.
Pálinka: A more neutral, soft, light, fruity flavoured brandy.
Wine: dry, full-bodied white wine with good acidity. It produces a fine, harmonious wine with good sugariness. Also good as a brandy. The typical grape and wine of Abasár.

Abasár is one of the most famous wine-growing villages in the Mátra Valley, where viticulture is based on centuries-old traditions. The soil in the area is of volcanic origin, with riolitic tufa, which is an excellent moisture retainer and good drainage. This ensures that the grapes are juicy, succulent and richly flavoured. The high number of hours of sunshine in the Mátra and the protection of the hills favour slow, even ripening, which is particularly beneficial for white grapes, but also gives blue grapes a deep colour and full flavour.

How does the delivery take place?
1. The desired quantity is reserved.
2. The exact date of pick-up is agreed a few days before the harvest.
3. The grapes are harvested in a milk crate.
4. We weigh the quantity at home before the grapes are picked.
5. The grape picker immediately pumps the grapes into a plastic container.
