Description
AgriN is a microbiological preparation containing Bacillus licheniformis, nitrobacter. As a mulch and compost treatment, it accelerates decomposition and the nutrients produced aid plant growth.
This bacterium is found in soil, compost and rumen of ruminants. It is the fastest multiplying soil bacterium responsible for most of the breakdown of cellulose. It is the engine of the nitrogen cycle, always obtaining nitrogen from the most readily available source. This is why it can also be used as a litter treatment, because it deodorises ammonia-scented litter manure in a matter of hours, and when it runs out of ammonia, it 'switches' to fixing atmospheric nitrogen. In effect, a natural "fertilizer factory". It halves grass clippings and other green waste in a week, and produces compost of potting soil quality in two months. All without unpleasant odours!
Even without organic manure, it produces valuable compost with high nitrogen content and accelerates humus formation. It is an excellent composting material for no-tillage.
It removes turfgrass thatch from lawns in a matter of days, leaving no place for pathogenic fungi to colonise. Use in conjunction with Tyra and Amazon for grass.
The Bacillus licheniformis strain in AgriN is capable of rapid multiplication. To do this, it derives its energy primarily from cellulose by breaking down plant residues. Consequently, the treated plant waste is transformed and composted in a short time. During its extraordinary reproduction, it has a high nitrogen demand, which it always takes up in the most readily available form. This can be manure or even atmospheric nitrogen, so it works on both sides of the nitrogen cycle. It is able to fix atmospheric nitrogen and provide nutrients to plants, but it also uses ammonia to dispose of manure and even regulate fermentation in the rumen of ruminants.
10-20 g/10 litres of water, enough to treat 100 m2 of mulch or 10 m3 of compost base material.
It can be used on all crops, applied to mulch or incorporated with stalk residues (e.g. green manure) or as a finished compost. In the case of normal mulch, it is recommended to apply it by sprayer to start fermentation over a larger surface area at a time. When applying green manure or stubble, spray it in one pass.
For composting, it is sufficient to apply once when the prism is assembled. In this case, the dissolved AgriN is added to the plant waste by spraying in several layers. The process can be accelerated considerably if a small amount of animal manure is added to the AgriN during the first treatment.
Increasing the number of germs applied will improve the efficiency. It is a natural, indigenous species and cannot be overdosed.
Bacillus licheniformis in 1 kg AgriN has an optimum temperature of 15-28 °C and requires cellulose and water to multiply. The treatment can be carried out only once on a given organic plant waste. The resulting nutrient-rich compost can be applied at any time and in any quantity. The treated compost is left on the soil surface.
AgriN cannot be mixed with bactericidal preparations! It is recommended to apply only from a sprayer that has not contained bactericides such as copper-containing sprays!
Do not use with bactericidal pesticides and soil disinfectants!
The product must be used in the form of an aqueous suspension. Soaking in lukewarm water for a few hours (2-24) will accelerate and improve the effect of the product. AgriN can be relatively effective even under less than optimum application conditions due to its 1 kg germination rate of 1,6 x 10^9 (CFU/cm^3) and its indigenous origin. Efficiency improves with increasing application rates.
The recommended rates indicate the minimum operating level where an effect can still be detected. Always apply to crop residues! Do not mix with bactericidal pesticides and soil disinfectants.
