Description
Composition by weight:
-Mohair: 60 % by weight
-Alexandria testis: 40 % by weight

Recommended seed rate: 25 kg/ha for forage mix, 15-20 kg/ha for green manure mix.

Recommended for summer sowing as a second crop:
-Carbon and carbon black production, green feeding
-As a secondary crop, for rapid relief of fodder shortages
-to make use of areas temporarily excluded from cultivation for some reason, such as weather

Pure mosses are more demanding on the soil than pure mosses, so pure mosses should be chosen for more sandy or very acid soils.

Growing advantages:
-Quick growing (harvestable 60-80 days after sowing), can be sown between two cereals in a favourable year with the right agro-technique
-drought tolerant, starts with little rain after sowing
-No fungal disease treatment required
-No adverse effect on the next crop, can be inserted anywhere in the rotation
-Improves land utilisation

Feeding benefits:
-Causes no bloating, easy to digest
-Balanced feed (both sugar and protein)
-Happy to eat by the animals

Use as a cover crop, green manure:
-A simple cover crop sown in summer or late summer, which can also be declared as an organic secondary crop or as a PAS arable cover crop under the aid scheme

Cultivation technology:
-Soil requirement: can be grown well on poor soils with poor water and nutrient balance. Recommended for soils with good cultural conditions. It does not favour soils with extreme water and heat management. For acid and more sandy soils, pure moss is recommended.
-Sowing time: immediately after harvest until the end of July.
-Sowing rate: 25 kg/ha.
-Drilling method: with a cereal drill, 1-2 cm deep. It is a small-seeded mixture and therefore requires a well-tilled, well-compacted seedbed.
-Nutrient supply: 30 kg nitrogen/ha can be applied. It will benefit from a low dry matter slurry applied before sowing or as a starter irrigation.
-Plant protection: not required, but sensitive to adventitious plants (weeds).
-Harvesting: moss can be mown before the moss is thrown up.
-Other: testicles are slightly slower growing than mohair.
