Chinese hemp palm (Trachycarpus fortunei)

One of the easiest palms to keep in our country, either planted or in pots. It can withstand short periods of cold temperatures as low as -17°C, but this is influenced by a number of factors: the age of the plant, its tolerance to frost, and the importance of a healthy, nutrient-rich start to the winter. In winter, it should be protected from precipitation, as water ingress to the heart leaf and subsequent severe frost can cause the plant to die. Frost tolerance: -17 °C.
