Description

Jamon variety, high yielding strip-tillage fodder beet seed.
Jamon fodder beet is a high yielding fodder crop with good land use.
It is recommended for dairy and beef cattle, as well as for wildlife.
The expected yield is 15-20% higher than for sugar beet, i.e. 60-100 tonnes/ha, depending on the crop and the location.
Advantages:
- High energy, sugar and cellulose content (35-40% sucrose in dry matter).
- 35 % of sucrose (35 % by weight), 35 % by weight of sugar content (35 % by weight of sucrose, 35 % by weight of sugar content).
- Easy digestibility.
- Increase in milk yield and milk solids.
- Takes up little space in the rumen.
- Storage is simple, it can be stored in a straw bale depot.
- No feed preparation required, can be placed directly in the feeding trolley.
Cultivation technology:
- Preparation of the soil: a well-worked (fine and even) seedbed with sufficient sedimentation.
- Sowing date: end of March, beginning of April.
- Sowing depth: 3-4 cm.
- Seed requirement: 2-3 boxes/ha.
- Additional care: two rows of intercropping are recommended until leaf fall in June.
- Nutrient supply: same as for sugar beet.
- Plant protection: e.g. as a base treatment Dual Gold 960 EC: 1,6 - 1,9 l/ha - as a stand treatment Betanal Expert 1 l/ha + Goltix 1 kg/ha.
- Harvesting: start milking and lifting the carrot body when the outer leaves are yellow. After lifting, it is advisable to leave the beet in ridges at the end of the field - parched and cooled beet is easier to store.
- Optimum harvesting time: September - October (before the rainy season).
