For a long-established, stable agricultural company, we are looking for an experienced crop production manager.

The purpose of the job is:
Full professional management of production and administrative activities related to arable crop production.

Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the work of the company's Board of Directors, in setting the strategic direction of crop production and in drawing up operational plans.
- drawing up sowing and yield plans, investment plans, participation in the related financial planning processes, optimising profitability; providing management data for financial control purposes
- planning the timing of technological operations in crop production, preparing operational plans and coordinating their implementation, taking account of production objectives and agro-ecological conditions
- professional evaluation and selection of the necessary inputs, ordering and coordination of the related logistical processes, in close cooperation with integration partners and suppliers
- actively participating in the marketing process: mapping market opportunities, supporting harvesting and storage decisions in line with demand, coordinating the related logistical processes, liaising with potential buyers during the marketing process
- familiarisation with the technical and administrative conditions for the various agricultural subsidies (e.g. BISS, CRISS, AÖP, AKG), ensuring that the conditions are met in the crop production technology and assisting in the application for subsidies
- operating the company's agricultural IT system and keeping up-to-date farm and plant protection records
- professional management of the work of the operators and maintenance staff working in arable crops (the direct, day-to-day management and supervision of the work of the arable crop workers is carried out by the operational manager)
- knowledge and monitoring of cultivated areas, regular visits to the field
- continuous monitoring of the development of the crops grown, assessment of the condition of the plants, timely identification and management of risks (e.g. diseases, pests, stress situations), and continuous reporting of the results of the monitoring to the company's management
- organising the plant protection tasks (in cooperation with the plant protection officer in the absence of a phytosanitary qualification)
- providing technical support for the management of machinery for crop production: drawing up investment proposals (including negotiations with suppliers and the tendering process), coordinating operation and maintenance tasks with production needs, participating in the sale of machinery that is surplus to requirements/needs to be replaced
- participating in the selection and performance evaluation of employees in the plant production sector

Place of employment: Administrative area of municipalities around Szolnok

Requirements:
- agricultural engineering (or equivalent higher education)
- at least 10 years' experience in arable farming, in a managerial position
- a category B driving licence
- Skilled use of MS Office programs
- professional commitment, proactivity, innovative approach
- excellent organisational and communication skills
- ability to work and take decisions independently

An advantage would be:
- a valid plant protection professional licence or a phytosanitary qualification
- experience in water management, irrigation development, construction and operation of irrigation systems
- experience in the implementation and operation of agri-informatics systems and precision farming software
- experience in the technological requirements and administration of agri-environmental management programmes
