Artificial intelligence-based forest condition assessment
???? Remote sensing based target stand and invasive tree detection using RTK.
MainForest provides an objective, repeatable and spatially accurate method for assessing forest condition. In the most recent survey:
????, we estimated the number and density of oak stands,
???? we assessed the spatial distribution of two invasive species (pedunculate and siskana),
???? the detected target population was subdivided into zones based on density.
???? The annotations are made with centimetre (RTK) coordinates, so that the data can be accurately retrieved and reused in the long term.
???? The results are aggregated in an automatically generated report,
- in a map and graph format,
- and also in GeoJSON format for further geospatial processing (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS).
???? Centimetre-accurate spatial data will be possible in the future:
- analysis of change based on lower resolution images,
- damage estimation,
- NDVI or elevation model-based analyses,
- planning targeted interventions.
